🌊 Long Island Seafood Industry Gets $1.2M Funding Boost

New York State just gave a big helping hand to Long Island's seafood industry. They're handing out $1.2 million to 17 local aquaculture businesses, with several in Nassau County getting a piece of the pie.

The money couldn't come at a better time. Long Island's seafood industry is doing really well — in 2023, fishermen brought in over 16 million pounds of fish, worth more than $28 million. Nassau County alone has 15 fish farms that made over $14.5 million in 2022.
