🛠️ Long-Awaited Town Dock Renovation Finally Moves Forward

Port Washington's beloved Town Dock is finally getting its long-overdue makeover — and it’s big. After more than a decade of waiting, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has officially approved a $19.6 million renovation project that promises to reinforce and reimagine the iconic waterfront. The dock, damaged during Superstorm Sandy, will undergo major upgrades including a new bulkhead, park benches, lighting, sidewalks, gangways, and safety features. Construction won't require tearing down the existing dock — instead, the structure will be extended eight inches outward. Federal and state funding will cover nearly the entire cost, with FEMA contributing $17.6 million. Town officials hope to complete contractor bidding by spring and emphasize the project will not drag on for years. Residents can finally look forward to a safer, more beautiful dock that preserves the charm — and views — we all cherish.

💝 Newsbite: $30K Gift to Westbury Seniors & Church

All Round Foods CEO Glen Wolther donated $30,000 to two Westbury staples — $20K to the Senior Center and $10K to St. Brigid’s Church. Both say the gift supports vital programs that bring the community together — from daily senior activities to the church’s annual 5K.

🚓 Glen Cove Raises $9K+ for First Responders

Despite the rain, Glen Cove’s Horsepower and Heroes event brought in over $9,100 to support local police, fire, EMS, and harbor patrol teams. Now in its second year, the luxury car showcase drew a crowd — and showed just how tightly this city rallies behind its heroes.
