🌳 Glen Cove Golf Course Invests $2.2M in New Sprinkler System
The Glen Cove Golf Course is undergoing a much-needed makeover with a $2.2 million investment in a brand new sprinkler system. The City Council fully supported to this project, working with National Lawn Sprinklers to modernize the course.
The current sprinklers have been around for nearly 50 years, showing their age and wasting water. This upgrade is part of a bigger $6.9 million plan to make the course better for everyone who plays there. Mayor Pam Panzenbeck wants both locals and visitors to enjoy better playing conditions, while keeping water use in check.

🌊 Greek Food Festival Makes a Splash!
Port Washington's Archangel Michael Church is throwing its 14th annual Greek Festival from Sept 25-28. Get ready for authentic Greek food, live music, and dancing by the harbor. They're expecting 5,000 people to show up for moussaka, baklava, and local crafts.
🐲 Dragon Boats Light Up North Hempstead!
Mark your calendars for Sept 30! North Hempstead Beach Park is hosting its first-ever Dragon Boat and Lantern Festival. The event features boat races with 30 teams, glowing lanterns, food vendors, and cultural shows. It's going to be a fun mix of competition and community spirit.
⛳ Golf Fans Sign Up in Record Numbers
The Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black is drawing volunteers from everywhere - 4,300 people from 46 states and 28 countries! Even with a $350 fee, folks are excited to help out at this big tournament from Sept 26-28. New stands at the first tee and 18th green will give fans an awesome view of the action.
