Governor Kathy Hochul just shared some big news for New York's downtown areas. She's putting $200 million on the table to help make local communities better places to live and work through two main programs - the Downtown Revitalization Initiative and NY Forward.
This money adds to what's already been done - $1.2 billion given to 151 communities so far. Towns and cities can ask for money to fix up their streets, make new parks, or help local shops do better. It's all about making downtown areas more fun and lively for everyone.
