A new free app is helping Long Island residents stay up-to-date with a huge power project coming their way. The $3.26 billion Propel NY Energy project will bring better electricity to the area through a 90-mile power line that runs both underground and underwater.

The project team from NY Transco and the New York Power Authority wants to make sure everyone knows what's happening in their neighborhood. Starting in mid-2026, about 60 miles of this line will be built right here on Long Island.
