🎖️ Food Aid for Veterans Gets $50K Boost in Long Island

A new $50,000 grant from New York State will help put more food on the tables of veterans and families in Long Island's East End. The funds will go to Long Island Cares, Inc. – The Harry Chapin Food Bank, which will buy meat, produce, and other good food specifically for local veterans.

The need is real: about 9,000 people in the East End don't have enough food. The Hunger Assistance & Humanitarian Center of the Hamptons has already helped nearly 14,000 people this year, serving over 124,000 meals.
