Roslyn’s clock tower is a memorial before it is a landmark. The Ellen E. Ward Memorial Clock Tower was built in 1895 and commissioned by Ward’s children in her memory. So one of Nassau’s prettiest downtown icons started as a family tribute, not just a civic ornament.

Invesco Ltd. is acquiring an 85% stake in the Millbrook Court redevelopment in Great Neck, a $114 million project that would expand the rental complex to 186 apartments. The plan includes affordable and rent-stabilized units, underground parking, and about 150 expected construction jobs. For those of us wondering about the Northern Blvd crawl, the plan funnels the 300-car underground parking entrance through the back on Middle Neck Road to try and keep the main drag moving.
