🏗️ $200 Million Broadway Commons Redevelopment Moves Forward in Hicksville

Plans to transform Broadway Commons into an open-air retail and lifestyle destination have taken another step forward.

The Town of Oyster Bay approved permits for an indoor recreation facility and gas station connected with the proposed redevelopment. The broader project, called The Shops on Broadway, carries an estimated value of approximately $200 million.

If the overall plan receives its remaining approval, construction could begin next year. The redevelopment is expected to introduce new recreation, dining, retail and public-facing spaces at the Hicksville property.

The full project has not received final approval. Construction dates, features and the eventual community impact remain subject to change.

🍔 Betty’s Opens in Merrick With Smashburgers and Giant Sundaes

Betty’s has opened at 1960 Bayberry Avenue in Merrick with a menu centered on double-stacked smashburgers and oversized ice-cream desserts.

Burger choices include the Garlic Pesto Smash, Carolina Stack, Nacho Pepper Hot Stepper and Cantina Burger. The menu also includes a Laguna Veggie option, fried chicken, hot dogs, salads and sandwiches.

Customers can choose from eight signature sundaes, milkshakes or a build-your-own sundae with more than 12 toppings. Because hours at new restaurants can change, customers should confirm current hours before visiting.

🥩 Great Neck Entrepreneur Builds Organic Jerky Business From the Ground Up

Yoni Jacob began making beef jerky in his parents’ garage before turning demand from friends and neighbors into a growing Great Neck business.

Yoni’s Jerky uses USDA Certified Organic grass-fed beef under kosher supervision. Jacob later established a professional production facility with kosher certification and is now working toward wider wholesale distribution.

The company’s hometown store is at 6 South Station Plaza in Great Neck. Its customers include families, travelers, professionals and people seeking kosher meat snacks.

Your K-Cup Has Been Sitting in a Warehouse for Months

That grocery store pod? It was roasted long before it hit the shelf. Coffee starts losing flavor within weeks of roasting — which is why your morning cup tastes flat, no matter how nice your machine is.

Angelino's does it differently. A third-generation roaster in Los Angeles, they roast, grind, and seal every pod in-house for peak freshness, then ship it to your door within days of roasting. The difference is the first thing you'll notice: real aroma, real flavor, no bitterness.

Mix and match from 50+ specialty coffees, teas, and flavored blends — all Keurig®-compatible — and save more with every box you add, up to 34% off at 12+. Order once whenever you're running low, or subscribe for an extra 5% if that's easier. Entirely up to you.

New customers get 15% off their first order — applied automatically, no code needed.
