Glen Cove Street Improvements Set to Begin This Week
Several Glen Cove streets are scheduled for roadway, sidewalk and curb improvements beginning this week. The city’s paving program covers Westland Drive between Southland Drive and Shell Drive, Carlyle Drive, Ellen Court, and Woolsey Avenue between Red Spring Lane and Westfield Place. United Paving Corp. will complete the work and contact affected property owners directly. The city says lawns disturbed during construction will be restored. Residents along these streets should watch for contractor notices and follow posted directions around active work areas.

Bethpage Job Expo Connects Employers With Job Seekers of All Abilities
Looking for work or exploring a career change? The Talent Connection Job Expo takes place Monday, October 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center, 1001 Stewart Avenue in Bethpage. The event welcomes job seekers of all abilities and brings together recruiters from multiple industries. Partners include Family Residences and Essential Enterprises and ACLD. Golden Crest Celebrates Its Uniondale Reopening
Golden Crest celebrated its grand reopening in Uniondale on September 19, marking the return of a longtime local Jamaican restaurant. A Nassau County announcement published September 22 highlighted the business’s more than three decades serving Uniondale and neighboring communities. This is an established restaurant returning to customers, rather than a new business arriving in town. For residents deciding where to eat nearby, the reopening puts a familiar neighborhood dining option back on the list.
