A new barbershop has opened in Great Neck Plaza. Alek’s Barbershop on Welwyn Road is run by Abraham Kalantarov, a barber with 18 years of experience who says the job is as much about trust and conversation as it is about the cut. After years in tailoring and a career restart in the U.S., he built a loyal client base and recently moved the shop to Great Neck for a shorter commute and a community that fits his Shabbat schedule.
