Good news for Long Beach residents who've been worried about code violations! The city just started a special program that lets people fix their property issues without paying penalties. This kicks off right on Global Forgiveness Day, which feels like perfect timing.
More than 3,000 outstanding violations can now be cleared through this program. It's all about giving people a second chance to get things right. The focus is on small stuff like basic property upkeep and minor code issues that might have been hard to handle before.
Whether you've got an overgrown yard or a fence that needs fixing, now's your chance to sort it out stress-free. The program shows how the city is working to help its residents, not just hand out tickets.

🚲 Making Streets Safer for Young Bikers in Franklin Square
Parents in Franklin Square are speaking up about safety issues on Cherry Valley Avenue, where kids can't safely bike to local parks. The street has no sidewalks, making it risky for young riders to share the road with cars.
Local families have joined forces to ask for better safety features. Their main requests? Adding bike lanes and putting up more signs to warn drivers about kids on bikes. The community wants to fix these problems before someone gets hurt.
The ball is now in the local government's court. Residents are waiting to see if their requests will lead to real changes that keep their kids safe while biking around town.
