Long Island just scored $56.4 million to fund economic development projects across Nassau and Suffolk counties. The money will support 29 local projects, including waterfront revitalization in Mastic, housing infrastructure in Patchogue, and childcare expansion in Bridgehampton. Another $30 million goes toward connecting the region's research and manufacturing sectors with NYC's tech scene.

After closing its doors in September, Morning Rose Café is back open under new ownership. The brunch spot ran for 12 years before the original owner handed things over to a longtime server and customer. They've kept the menu mostly the same and given the walls a fresh coat of green paint.
