🚐 Nassau's New Mobile Mammogram Van Hits The Streets
Nassau University Medical Center just added a really cool new way to help more women get their mammograms. They've put a complete screening center on wheels that will drive right to where people need it most in Nassau County.

Photo by: Nassau University Medical Center
The new mobile unit isn't just any old van - it's got all the latest screening equipment inside. The team at NUMC thinks this will help 40% more women get checked for breast cancer, which is pretty amazing when you think about it.
What's really neat is how this helps people who might have trouble getting to the hospital. The van shows up in different neighborhoods, making it super easy for women to get their screenings done close to home. You might spot its bright, friendly-looking exterior around town.
This is such good news for Nassau County - catching breast cancer early can be life-saving, and now more women will have that chance. The mobile unit will focus on areas where getting to medical appointments isn't always easy.

🏗️ New $212M Housing Project Takes Shape in West Hempstead
Big news for West Hempstead! Heatherwood just hit a key milestone with their new Heritage Westminster project, now reaching its highest point of construction. This $212 million development is going up right by the LIRR station, making it super handy for future residents.

The project will bring 428 new apartments to the area - a huge plus for folks looking for housing in Nassau County. Think about it: new homes, shops, and more life coming to the neighborhood. It's exactly what the area needs right now.
A local official called it a "game-changer," and they might be right. With more people moving in, local businesses should see more customers walking through their doors. Plus, having new homes near public transit is always a smart move.
The whole thing should wrap up soon, and you can already see the changes if you pass by the LIRR station. Keep an eye out - this project is going to make some real changes to how West Hempstead looks and feels!

🎓School Budget Gets Green Light: $125M for North Shore Kids
The North Shore School District just gave the thumbs up to a $125 million budget for next school year. Every board member said yes to the plan, which shows they're all pulling in the same direction for their students.
The money will keep teachers in classrooms and keep good programs running, even though money is tight these days. The school board wants to give kids the best chance to learn while being smart with taxpayer money.
Parents and teachers came to meetings to share what they thought was most important. You might have seen signs around town about different school programs - that's because lots of people care about where the money goes.
For families in Nassau County, this budget means a lot. It's all about making sure kids get good teachers, decent supplies, and the support they need to do well in school.
