🏦 Wells Fargo Opens New Long Island Branch with Community Gift

Wells Fargo just opened its newest bank branch on Long Island, bringing fresh banking options to local residents. The opening event on January 9, 2025, brought together local leaders and bank officials to mark this special occasion.

The bank showed its dedication to the area by giving a $50,000 grant to support local community projects. This money will help fund programs that make life better for Long Island residents and boost the local economy.

The celebration wasn't just about cutting ribbons - it was about making real connections with the community. Banking officials mixed with town leaders and business owners, showing that Wells Fargo wants to be more than just another bank on the block.

🏘️New Life for Historic Freeport Housing Complex

A fresh start is coming to Freeport's old Moxey Rigby housing site. BOSFA Properties from Lawrence will build The Gardens at Buffalo, bringing 200 new homes to the spot that's been empty since Sandy hit in 2012.

The original building from 1958 couldn't be saved after the storm. Now, it's getting a complete makeover that'll help lots of different people find homes. Most units - about 150 - will be for working families. The rest will be split between older folks and veterans, with 25 spots for each group.

This big change isn't happening overnight. Construction teams plan to finish up by July 2026. It's nice to see this empty space turning into something good for Freeport again.

🌳Glen Cove Scores Big Win for Parks & Recreation

Some great news for Glen Cove residents! The city just got a fat check worth $553,000 from Nassau County's Boost Tourism Program.

The money will help fix up the local parks and sports areas that need a little TLC. City officials say these updates will make Glen Cove more attractive for hosting sports events and community get-togethers.

This isn't just about making things look pretty - it's about bringing more people to town. When visitors come for tournaments or events, they spend money at local shops and restaurants, which helps everyone in Glen Cove.

The grant comes at a perfect time, as many of these spaces were due for an update. The improvements will start soon, giving Glen Cove's outdoor areas the attention they deserve.
