📚 Manhasset Schools' $115M Budget Plan Ready for Vote

The Manhasset School Board just gave the green light to next year's $115 million budget. The plan, which needs community approval on May 20, is about $3.7 million more than last year - a 3.38% bump.

Superintendent Gaurav Passi feels good about the budget plan. "There's much to be proud of in this budget." The money will go toward making classes better, buying new tech, and keeping schools safe.

What's in it for students? The budget focuses on keeping classes small and adding new subjects. Kids will get chances to study biomedical sciences and business. The board wants to make sure teachers have what they need to help students learn and grow.

Want to learn more? Mark your calendar for May 8 - there's going to be a public meeting about the budget. You can ask questions and share what you think. Remember, May 20 is when everyone gets to vote on the budget and pick two new board members.

🚚 FedEx's New $84M Home in Inwood: Building Tomorrow's Delivery Hub

A huge new warehouse is coming to Inwood, and it's got FedEx's name written all over it. The $84 million project is taking shape at 65 Rason Road, turning an old 8.7-acre empty lot into something special.

The building is already looking impressive. They just finished putting up all the steel - and when it's done, it'll be massive. We're talking about a 129,485-square-foot space with 32 loading docks and parking for 310 cars on the roof. Pretty neat, right?

CenterPoint Properties is running the show here. They saw potential in this empty spot that used to be a sewage treatment plant and decided to make something great out of it. The Town of Hempstead's even helping out with some money to make it happen.

The best part? This isn't just about having a nice new building. It's bringing jobs to Nassau County and making it easier to handle deliveries, especially with JFK Airport right nearby. Mark your calendars for early 2026 - that's when they're planning to open the doors.

🚗Road Repairs Coming to Nassau County: $16.6M Project Gets Green Light

Good news for Nassau County drivers! Governor Kathy Hochul just announced a big $16.6 million project to fix up major roads in Nassau County. If you've been dodging the same old bumps on your daily drive, help is on the way.

The work will focus on making roads smoother and safer for everyone who uses them. This isn't just about prettier streets - it's about making sure your car doesn't take a beating every time you head out.

Local residents have already spotted new construction signs going up, and many are pretty happy about it. "This investment will make travel safer for all Long Islanders," says Governor Hochul, showing she's listening to what locals have been asking for.

This means less money spent on car repairs and more peace of mind during daily trips. Keep an eye out for work crews as changes start happening on your usual routes!
