đ¤ North Hempstead Town Dock Gets $1M Federal Funding

Port Washington's Town Dock Revitalization Project just landed another $1 million in federal money. The cash will help build a public plaza and green spaces, adding to the $19 million already in the bank. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently gave the project the green light, so construction can move forward.

đ° NYC Gets $1.5 Billion Lifeline
New York State is sending $1.5 billion to NYC over two years to shore up city finances. The money breaks down to $1 billion for FY26 and $510 million for FY27, covering youth programs, sales tax receipts, and public health. Another $500 million is set aside for future priorities.

Norman J. Levy Park & Preserve in Merrick is a hillside preserve with bay views that works when you want something different without leaving Nassau. A âhow is this view in Nassau?' hilltop preserve with 360-ish panoramas and quiet trails. Crisp air, fewer crowds, and winter birds. It works for golden hour. It's one of the best low-effort âbig view' walks on the South Shore. The vibe is Quiet trails, big sky, marshy bay air. Thereâs a short, steep-ish climb to the top. Bring a thermos in cooler months. Works well for a quick weekday reset. Watch for windy conditions up top.
