💧New York State Announces $3.75B for Water Projects

New York State revealed a five-year plan to fund water infrastructure improvements across New York State. The $750 million annual investment will tackle aging systems and PFAS contamination, with specific Nassau County allocations coming soon. Previous funding already directed $16.4 million to local PFAS removal projects.

Glen Cove Superfund Sites Pass EPA Review

The EPA confirmed that cleanup efforts at two Glen Cove Superfund sites are working well to protect residents. The Li Tungsten and Mattiace Facility sites have seen massive soil and toxic material removal, though groundwater monitoring for arsenic and PFAS continues. Over 150,000 cubic feet of contaminated soil has been removed from the Li Tungsten site alone.
