Hello Nassau! Let’s Talk What’s New & What’s Next
A storefront renovation and a family museum trip have something in common: both are worth checking for available help before you pay. Today, we’re looking at business funding and library benefits, plus a couple of ways to get outside this week.

Up to $100K for Eligible Main Street Business Improvements
Planning to renovate or expand a Nassau storefront? PSEG Long Island’s Main Street Revitalization program offers eligible business customers incentives of up to $100,000, with award amounts tied to the project. Qualifying work can include interiors, building façades and streetscape improvements.
This is an existing funding opportunity, not a newly announced Nassau award. Businesses must be in the utility’s service territory and meet its requirements. Contact the program before starting construction, confirm funding is still available, and get the applicable approval requirements in writing. A planned renovation does not automatically qualify.

Your Library Card Could Cover Museum Admission
Before buying tickets for a family outing, check your home library’s museum-pass collection. Franklin Square Public Library, for example, offers passes, vouchers and discount codes to its own cardholders, with reservations available online.
Its print-on-demand passes are valid for the reserved visit date, and the number of people admitted depends on the attraction. Don’t assume one pass covers the whole family or that another town’s library will accept your card. Start with your own library, read the pass terms, and check whether the museum requires a separate reservation.

Renew Books and Browse Events Without Another Trip
The Nassau Public Libraries app brings several everyday library tasks onto your phone: searching the catalog, renewing and reserving items, finding events, accessing digital downloads and displaying a digital library card. Museum-pass information is also included.
It’s an existing service, not a new October launch. Participating libraries include communities across Nassau, from Baldwin and Elmont to Port Washington and Wantagh. Choose your home library when setting it up, and use that library’s borrowing and reservation rules. The app doesn’t make every service available to every cardholder.
