🍀Community Comes Together for St. Patrick's Day Breakfast

The third annual Backyard Breakfast in Rockville Centre brought smiles and full plates to locals on March 2, 2023. Families enjoyed pancakes, sausages, and coffee while taking part in fun raffles with prizes from local shops.

The Chamber of Commerce put together this heartwarming event that did more than just feed hungry folks. Money raised went to help local charities, schools, and community programs. It was also a great warm-up for the big St. Patrick's Day parade coming up on March 11.

"This breakfast really kicks off our St. Patrick's celebrations nicely," said Chamber President John Smith. "Seeing everyone come together like this for a good cause is just wonderful."

The breakfast has become a special part of Nassau County life. It brings neighbors together, helps local businesses, and makes the town stronger. Plus, it gets everyone excited for the upcoming parade - one of the biggest parties of the year in Rockville Centre.

⛳ Glen Cove Golf Course Gets Major Facelift

The Glen Cove City Council just said "yes" to some big changes at the city's golf course. They all agreed it was time to fix up the place, especially that old bridge on the 13th hole that's been causing headaches for years.

The repairs will cost about $396,000, but locals think it's money well spent. Steve Gonzalez, who lives nearby, says the bridge has been falling apart for over 10 years - and Hurricane Sandy in 2012 made things even worse.

Good news for golfers: the course is getting a new watering system too. Spiro Tsirkas, who runs the city's youth programs, says it should be ready in a month. This means better grass and playing conditions for summer 2026.

Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck keeps it simple: "It's long overdue." The city's been working on this for a while, fixing up buildings first and now turning attention to the course itself.

These updates mean better golf for everyone in Nassau County. It's not just about the game - it's about making the place somewhere people want to spend time and making Glen Cove proud.

🍀 The NOSH Delivers St. Patrick's Magic!

NOSH Delivers! is getting ready for something special this Saturday. They're putting together their "Shamrocks Rock" event, which is part of their Kids Day of Service program. This food pantry, which helps over 500 families in the North Shore area, wants to bring some St. Patrick's Day happiness to local seniors.

Kids and their families will be making special care packages filled with fun shamrock-themed items and basic necessities. It's a great way to bring different generations together and show seniors that people care about them. Local families and volunteers are expected to show up in big numbers to help out.

This event does more than just hand out food - it brings people together and teaches kids about helping others.

👟Two Popular Shoe Brands Join Tanger Outlets

Good news for shoe lovers! Clarks and Birkenstock are opening new stores at Tanger Outlets Deer Park. reports that both stores will open their doors this spring.

Clarks is setting up a store next to Coach, offering shoes for everyone in the family. The store will take up about 2,400 square feet and will open next month. Birkenstock fans can look forward to a bigger space - nearly 2,900 square feet - across from Columbia, opening in late April.

"These brands bring new options for fashion-forward footwear that puts comfort first," says Amaka Muir, who runs marketing at Tanger Deer Park. She thinks both stores will fit right in with the other shops at the center.

This is great for local shoppers who want more choices when buying shoes. The new stores show that Tanger Outlets keeps growing and bringing in brands that people want. With these additions, Nassau County gets even more shopping options right in their backyard.
