💰 North Hempstead's $138M Budget: Tax Freeze Brings Good News

The Town of North Hempstead just shared their budget plans for 2026, and there's good news for locals. The town is keeping taxes steady while setting aside $138 million for community needs — that's just a small 1.47% bump in spending from last year.

For folks living in unincorporated areas, your tax bill might actually go down a bit - from $767.17 to $763.35. If you're in one of the villages, you'll see a tiny increase of about 60 cents — bringing the average to $247.30.

Sea Cliff is making its streets better for everyone. The village plans to add new crosswalks, bike lanes, and slow-down spots, starting early 2024. The $500,000 project will make it easier for families and seniors to get around safely.
