🌊What’s replacing Long Island’s old malls?

Big changes are coming to LI malls, and Great Neck gets a new dining spot.

Hello Nassau! Let’s Talk What’s New & What’s Next
It’s Monday, and we’re kicking off the week with fresh updates, inspiring local stories, and events you won’t want to miss. From community wins to hidden gems worth exploring, here’s what’s happening across Nassau County today—and what’s coming up next.

Fun Fact Spotlight:
Elmont has one of Nassau’s best nicknames. Belmont Stakes materials note that the Belmont Stakes moved to Belmont Park in 1905, and the Belmont main track became known as “Big Sandy.” That’s cleaner and more repeatable than a generic horse-racing fact.

Sea Cliff: A 1928 Cottage in a Village With Its Own Texture

32 9th Avenue is a 1928 cottage with Craftsman styling, three bedrooms, three baths, a screened porch, and a small garden. Sea Cliff’s unique vibe gives this home more character than a standard listing ever could.. The village’s official site says Sea Cliff is known for one of Nassau County’s best collections of late-Victorian architecture, and its parks page points to both a municipal beach and Veteran’s Memorial Park, with open views over Hempstead Harbor and Long Island Sound. In that setting, the house reads less as a generic suburban listing and more as part of a North Shore village with a strong sense of place.
