🏘️ Big Housing Boost Coming to Long Island: $26M Fund Gives New Hope

Good news for Long Island residents looking for a place to call home! Governor Kathy Hochul just announced over $26 million in funding to build new housing in Nassau and Suffolk counties. The money will help create about 750 new homes, and nearly half of them will be priced for regular working families. The biggest project is in Patchogue - it's called the Carriage House and got $8 million to build 262 apartments. Another cool project is The Grand at Baldwin, which will put 215 homes right near the train station.

These new homes aren't just buildings - they're going to make life better for lots of people. They're being built close to jobs and public transit, so families won't have to spend hours getting to work. Local leaders say these projects will help make downtown areas more lively and give the economy a nice boost too.
