$350K Gift Expands Cancer Trial Access At Mount Sinai South Nassau
Mount Sinai South Nassau will expand local access to cancer clinical trials with a $350,000 donation from the Betty Ajces Trust.
The gift supports the hospital's work with the Mount Sinai Tisch Cancer Institute, helping more eligible Long Island patients learn about and participate in research closer to home. It is the trust's fourth major gift to the hospital since 2023, bringing its reported total support to about $2.05 million.
Mount Sinai South Nassau's Feil Cancer Center treats about 2,500 patients each year. A donation can expand research capacity, but it does not guarantee that every patient will qualify for a clinical trial. Eligibility depends on the study and a patient's medical circumstances.

Fully Leased Westbury Retail Strip Sells For $5.3M
A fully leased retail property at 427 Old Country Road in Westbury has sold for $5.3 million.
Advance Properties LLC, a Carle Place-based commercial real estate investment firm, purchased the 6,087-square-foot building on 0.35 acres. Its tenants are T-Mobile, Yaaas Tea and The Joint Chiropractic, and the property sits across from Costco and Walmart.
RIPCO Real Estate represented both Advance Properties and the seller, 427 Old Country Developers Inc. The transaction reflects investor demand for leased retail space along a high-traffic Nassau corridor. No tenant closings or service changes were announced as part of the sale.
