Bellerose LIRR Station Gets $250K Boost For ADA Upgrades
The Bellerose LIRR station has received $250,000 in federal Community Project Funding to support accessibility upgrades.
The federal award is one part of a much larger MTA project. The agency has awarded a combined $145.4 million design-build contract for work at the Bellerose and Floral Park stations.
Plans for Bellerose include a new elevator, accessible ramps on both sides of the station, replaced stairs, an extended platform, built-in snow-melting equipment and improvements to the waiting room, lighting and security systems.
The station serves an average of about 768 weekday riders. The upgrades are part of the MTA's broader effort to make more LIRR stations fully accessible.

Greis Park Little League Field Gets $164K Turf Approval
Lynbrook has approved a $164,000 artificial-turf upgrade for a Little League field at Greis Park.
The project will convert the infield of the park's 60-foot Little League field to turf. The village selected LandTek for the work, continuing a series of improvements to the community's recreational facilities.
The approval authorizes the project, but it does not mean construction is already complete. A public start date and completion date were not included in the initial report, so residents should look for a village update before expecting field access to change.
