Big changes are coming to Hicksville, New York! The old Broadway Commons mall is getting a $100 million makeover that will turn it into something completely different - an open-air shopping center where people can hang out, eat, and shop.

The old Macy's building will come down to make way for new developments. They're putting in a BJ's Wholesale Club that's 105,000 square feet, plus a cool new area called The District where you can find food and fun things to do. Glen Cove Hospital is up for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award - one of just seven healthcare spots nationwide to make the cut. They've also scored a perfect five stars in quality ratings, making them Nassau County's only five-star hospital. Winners will be picked in November.

August brought fresh flavors to Nassau County with Chimichurri Charcoal Chicken in Oceanside and The Rustic Table in Garden City joining the scene. Both spots focus on fresh ingredients and healthy options, adding more choices for local food lovers.
