Work Begins on American Express’ Future World Trade Center Headquarters

Construction is underway on 2 World Trade Center, the final commercial tower set to rise at the World Trade Center site. The 55-story building is expected to reach 1,226 feet, accommodate up to 10,000 American Express employees and be completed in 2031. Officials estimate the project will create more than 3,200 construction jobs, adding another major piece to Lower Manhattan’s continued rebuilding.
