Farmingdale Village scored a $4.5 million NY Forward grant to spruce up downtown. The money will fund a capital program for local businesses, restore the Thomas Powell House, and build an 8,000 square-foot theater with 225 seats. It's all part of bringing more cultural events and economic activity to the area.

ð§ New Hyde Park Upgrades Public Works Facilities
New Hyde Park's public works department is wrapping up a $5 million makeover of its facilities, paid for mostly by state grants and the LIRR third track project. The upgrades include a new salt shed, truck garage, and better office spaces. Workers will finally get safer, more comfortable conditions after nearly a century of making do.
