Jericho has a quiet endurance record. Its Friends Meeting House was built in 1788 and is still used today, which gives it more staying power than almost anything else in town.

A nine-story, 101-unit owner-occupied condo project is expected to begin construction across from the Mineola Long Island Rail Road station. Known as The Bridge, the $130 million project has secured a $111.3 million construction loan and is planned near downtown Mineola, with amenities including a rooftop terrace, pool, commercial event space, and room for local vendors.
The project is a notable test for village-style housing in Nassau. Instead of a traditional single-family setup, The Bridge is aimed at buyers who want ownership with train access, downtown activity, and nearby services. If it works, it could bring more foot traffic and local spending into Mineola’s village core.

Where to Eat in Garden City, Based on the Night
Trying to pick a Garden City restaurant? This guide compares local spots by occasion, including seafood, Italian, steakhouses, brunch, group dinners, hotel dining, and special-occasion meals, so Nassau readers can choose the right place instead of just the highest-rated one. |
🍽️ New Nassau dining additions land in Roslyn Heights, Manhasset, and Syosset
Nassau’s dining scene is adding new options across several communities. Kuku Korean Cuisine is bringing bibimbap, bulgogi, Thai chili chi-bap, and other Korean dishes to Roslyn Heights. Angie’s in Manhasset adds steakhouse, seafood, raw bar, burger, and family-friendly options. Smart’wich in Syosset brings Portuguese-style sandwiches, including octopus and sardines, along with pastel de nata.
These openings are not tied to the Mineola condo project, but they fit the broader village-economy story: more housing, more foot traffic, and more reasons for Nassau residents to eat, shop, and spend locally.
