đźš‘ Nassau Hospitals Earn National Recognition for Specialty Care
Several hospitals serving Nassau County earned recognition in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026-27 Best Hospitals evaluation.
North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset and Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park ranked fourth and fifth in New York, respectively. Glen Cove Hospital was also among the recognized Long Island facilities.
St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center in Roslyn received national recognition in several specialties. Its cardiology, heart and vascular surgery program was recognized for the 19th consecutive year.
For Nassau residents, the rankings highlight access to nationally recognized cardiac, neurological and other specialty services close to home.

💼 Valley Stream Leader to Revive Women’s Business Network
Valley Stream resident Raquel Washington has been selected to lead the relaunch of Ladies of LIAACC “Women Who Shine,” an initiative of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce.
The program is being developed for women entrepreneurs, executives, professionals and emerging business leaders across Long Island. Planned offerings include business-development workshops, practical AI training, networking, leadership development, member spotlights and mentoring.
Organizers expect to announce the relaunch at a September 1 networking event in Elmhurst, followed by a larger kickoff in October. The October date and participation cost had not been finalized when the report was published.

👨‍⚕️ Nassau Plastic Surgeon Receives National Recognition
Dr. Lyle Leipziger, a Kings Point resident and chief of plastic surgery at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center, was included in The Hollywood Reporter’s 2026 list of leading cosmetic doctors and aesthetic specialists in America.
Leipziger is a board-certified surgeon with more than 25 years of experience in cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. His work includes breast reconstruction and body contouring after significant weight loss.
He also trains surgical residents at Nassau hospitals, extending his experience to the next generation of local physicians.
