Mineola Apartment Proposal Advances With Preliminary IDA Support

A proposed $109.8 million apartment development in Mineola has received preliminary approval for financial assistance from the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency.

Eden Blue LLC plans a six-story, 373,331-square-foot building at 110-136 Willis Avenue with 172 apartments, including 18 income-restricted units for households earning up to 80 percent of area median income. Plans also call for parking, ground-floor retail, a village recreation field office, space for the Mineola Museum, stadium seating and a covered breezeway.

The developer requested sales-tax and mortgage-recording-tax benefits, while the terms of a possible payment-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement remain under review. The IDA action was preliminary, not final.

If remaining approvals and construction stay on schedule, the first residents could move in during fall 2028.

I Almost Threw Out My Keurig. It Wasn't Broken.

Every cup from my Keurig started tasting weak, flat, stale โ€” so I unplugged it and stuck it in a closet. Then I learned the dirty secret of grocery store K-Cups: by the time a pod reaches your kitchen, it's usually spent months going from factory to warehouse to truck to shelf. The flavor oils are long gone. Some brands even over-roast to hide it.

The fix wasn't a new machine. It was fresh pods from Angelino's, a family-owned L.A. roastery that roasts, packs, and ships within 3โ€“5 days โ€” straight to your door, from 39ยข a cup. Over 1,000,000 happy customers. 50+ flavors, no subscription required, and 15% off your first order, applied automatically at checkout.

COMMUNITY UPDATE

Lakeview Public Library Plans New Study Pods With $145,500 In Grants

Lakeview Public Library is preparing to add private study and meeting pods with support from two Nassau County Community Revitalization Program grants totaling $145,500.

The mobile pods are intended to give individuals and small groups quieter places to work, study or meet inside the library. Grant funding will also support a video-management and camera system as part of the broader improvement project.

Installation was scheduled for Wednesday, September 16. Readers planning to use the new spaces should confirm that installation is complete and ask the library about availability or reservation procedures.

In an independent taste test, dogs chose Sundaysโ€™ chicken recipe over a leading kibble brand 100% of the time. Thatโ€™s not a fluke โ€” itโ€™s what happens when food is actually made from real ingredients.

Sundays was founded by Dr. Tory, a veterinarian who wanted something better than heavily processed kibble for her own dog, Mabel. Every recipe is human-grade, vet-formulated, and made with over 80% real meat plus nutrient-rich fruits, vegetables, seeds, and grains โ€” no fillers, artificial preservatives, or synthetic additives.
