šŸ’° Valley Stream wins $10M downtown grant

Valley Stream has been selected for a $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant from New York State. Patchogue, in Suffolk County, will receive $4.5 million through the NY Forward program.

For Valley Stream, the award sets up a planning process for downtown projects that could improve infrastructure, support local businesses, and make the village center more useful for residents, commuters, and visitors.

The Gold Coast Book Fair is expanding in downtown Oyster Bay, with more than 150 authors scheduled for signings, panels, workshops, and family-friendly programming.

The lineup includes familiar names such as Mookie Wilson, Susan Lucci, and Joan Lunden, along with authors across fiction, history, memoir, food, children’s books, and more.

It is an easy Nassau weekend pick: books, local vendors, author talks, and a walkable Oyster Bay setting.

šŸš— New in Oceanside: AAMCO opens on Long Beach Road

AAMCO Transmission and Total Car Care has opened a new Oceanside center at 3345 Long Beach Road, with a grand-opening ribbon cutting held April 18.

The shop handles transmission diagnostics and repair, brake service, and general auto maintenance. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
