Roslyn is weighing a benefits increase to help support volunteer first responders. The proposal would raise the annual service benefit from $20 to $30 for qualifying service, with a maximum of 50 years. It would still need additional approvals, including action from the New York State Legislature and a local referendum, before taking effect.
The issue is bigger than one benefit number. Roslyn, like many Nassau communities, relies on volunteer emergency services while facing recruitment and retention pressure. Increasing benefits is a way to keep that system workable without jumping straight to the much higher cost of a paid department.

Skincare built by longevity scientists — not marketers
Most skincare addresses what happens after your skin ages: the appearance of wrinkles, loss of visible firmness, and dullness. But four PhD longevity scientists asked a different question: what if you could target the cellular process that causes visible aging in the first place?
Their answer is OS-01, the first peptide scientifically proven to address senescent cells — the damaged "zombie cells" that accumulate with age and accelerate visible skin decline. The result: the first topical clinically validated to address visible skin aging at the source. In a double-blind 12-week clinical study of OS-01 FACE:
100% of users showed improved overall appearance
96% improved visible firmness
87% showed improvement in the appearance of wrinkles
Barrier strength improved 15%
This isn't skincare with better marketing. It's skincare with better science. And real results.

🏨 North Shore adds $25.7M post-surgical recovery unit
North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset has opened a $25.7 million post-anesthesia care unit inside the Petrocelli Surgical Pavilion. The 11,400-square-foot unit includes 42 beds, 40 recovery bays, two isolation rooms, and added monitoring technology.
The new space is built for patients recovering from complex surgeries, including cardiac surgery, organ transplant, and neurosurgery. It is not a flashy hospital expansion, but it directly affects capacity, privacy, and how well a major Nassau hospital can manage serious post-operative care.
