New York has announced up to $9.5 million in state capital funding for two Rockville Centre projects: the Hickey-Joyce Field Complex and a municipal water-filtration upgrade.
The package includes $2.5 million toward the $7.2 million ballfield renovation, with new playing surfaces, lighting, fencing, seating and a press box. The complex is home to Rockville Centre Little League.
A separate commitment of up to $7 million toward an $8 million water project supports treatment for iron and 1,4-dioxane. These are funding commitments for planned improvements; completion dates remain unconfirmed.
