šŸŽØ Summer activities at Long Island Children’s Museum

Looking for ways to keep kids busy while school is out? Long Island Children’s Museum in Garden City has a full July and August calendar with hands-on activities, art workshops, animal encounters, theater performances, and carousel rides.

The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with Mondays listed as the quietest day to visit when camps aren’t scheduled. Families can check out programs like Bubble Magic, Create Your Castle, Dive In!, Citizen Science, watercolor projects, and special events including World Bee Day.

Some workshops, theater shows, and carousel rides require an extra fee.

šŸ½ļø First look: The James opens in Garden City

Garden City has a new dinner spot to check out. The James has opened at 910 Franklin Ave. in the former Primehouse space, bringing its modern American brasserie concept from Babylon to Nassau County.

The restaurant seats about 130 guests, making it smaller and more intimate than the team’s other locations. For now, The James is open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday, with lunch service expected to begin in September. The restaurant is also booking private catered events on weekend afternoons.

A Robert A.M. Stern Home in Mill Neck
233 Cleft Road is a 1982 Mill Neck home with four bedrooms, 4.5 baths, 5,233 square feet, and 4.68 acres. The listing’s sharpest detail is the architect: it identifies the property as one of only two Robert A.M. Stern-designed homes in Nassau County. Mill Neck’s history runs from farmland to North Shore estates, and this house fits that line better than a generic luxury listing would. The acreage, scale, and authorship make it less about size alone and more about a specific piece of Nassau design history.
